Caramel Latte Cupcakes

I would have liked to have called these Iced Caramel Latte Cupcakes, but a frozen cupcake doesn't sound all that pleasing. It's summer time, its arrived and its hot. Those that live here in the central valley know just how hot it can get here during our summer's with temperatures reaching up to 100 degrees. 

 So dealing with the heat I wanted to come up with a light, sweet, coffee flavored cupcake to fool me into thinking that I have an iced caramel latte in hand. I made mini's as well as standard size cupcakes for this particular batch of cupcakes because mini cupcakes are just way too adorable!

I feel I did just that. nice and refreshing and full of coffee flavor this cupcake features a moist vanilla cake, espresso swirls of buttercream and a good amount of caramel to satisfy any caramel latte cravings one may be having, and to top it off but of course a single coffe bean! Also the cupcake has a caramel center to bite into, ummm YUM!!!

I love this cupcake, in fact I think I'll help myself to one after finishing this sentence...

In all seriousness though folks we have two delicious sweets together in a glorious cupcake. We've got a golden vanilla cupcake with a dollop of chocolate chip cookie dough (with walnuts) in the center of the cake. A very nice surprise to bite into! A nice classic vanilla buttercream is then added to the cake and finally it is topped with a ball of rolled cookie dough.

And really lets be honest the cookie dough is the best part of making cookies and now you'll get with a cupcake as well!

Vanilla Cherry Cupcakes

 

I wanted to make the best of fresh cherry season so I baked a golden vanilla cake with fresh cherries baked directly into the cake.  A little warning though is that the pit is intact with the center cherry that tops the cupcake. Moist and delicious and perfect for the season! 

Chamomile and Lavender Cupcakes

A golden vanilla cupcake with dipped lavender and chamomile icing, topped with dried lavender and chamomile flowers.

I had a custom order today for pink flamingo cupcakes (minus the toppers) and blue golden vanilla cupcakes for a pair of twins. I thought they were adorable so I wanted to make sure to catch some photos  before boxing up the order.
